Lube does not stay where you put it

Stop using less than you need to protect the sheets

Nobody says it out loud, but it happens constantly. You go easy on the lube because you are thinking about the laundry. You cut things short because someone has to deal with the mess. You pick the position that keeps it contained instead of the one you actually want.

Waterproof and liquid-tight are not the same thing

Most "waterproof" throws are not liquid proof. They are coated. A finish is sprayed or bonded onto the surface of the fabric, and water beads up on top of it. Run a glass of water over one and it passes, which is why the category gets away with the word.

Lube is not water. Silicone lube in particular has very low surface tension, which means it does not bead. It flattens out, creeps into the weave, and goes wherever the fibers go. A surface coating has nothing to stop that.

The Love Blanket is not coated. It is built around a fully sealed membrane laminated between the top layer and the backing, so there is no path through the fabric at all.

Three layers:

- 250GSM flannel fleece on top

- a sealed membrane in the middle

- 210GSM sherpa underneath.

Soft on both sides, sealed all the way through.

Silicone does not wash out of a mattress

Sheets are recoverable. A mattress is not. Silicone lube sits in the foam and stays there, and after a few months you are looking at a stain you cannot get out of something you paid several hundred dollars for.

A good mattress costs more than ten Love Blankets. The blanket goes in the machine on a delicate cycle at 30 to 40 degrees and comes out ready to go again, and the sealed layer holds up wash after wash. It is the cheapest insurance you will ever put on a bed.

How should I wash the Love Blanket?

For the Love Blanket, it is recommended to use a delicate wash program with a temperature of 30 to 40 degrees and a low spin speed (between 600 or 800 revolutions) in the washing machine. We advise against using fabric softener. For light stains (e.g., water-based), you can also just wring out the blanket and hang it up to dry.

How much liquid can the Love Blanket absorb?

It depends on the size of the blanket and the type of liquid. However, the largest Love Blanket can easily absorb over 1.5 liters of water, which should be sufficient for most adventures ;)

Does the liquid simply bead off or does it get absorbed?

The standard Love Blanket is made of a particularly absorbent material that actively absorbs liquid. The Cooling and Quick-Dry blankets use a different material that dries faster but also absorbs less liquid.

What size should I choose?

We highly recommend a love blanket in size Queen or King Size. These sizes offer the most freedom and comfort. A detailed size comparison can be found further up on the product page, above the color selection.

Does it make loud or crinkly sounds?

Not at all. The Love Blanket™ is made with noise-free materials. It’s soft, quiet, and discreet. No rustling, no crinkling, and definitely no plastic tarp feel. Just a cozy, high-quality throw that feels as good as it looks - even during the wildest moments.
